Light Metal: Extra Life + Naaljos Ljom + Els Vandeweyer

Light Metal is a live music series that uses its own name as either literal, symbolic, contradicting or mismatching theme.

This next edition is dedicated to music compositions so close to the edge that listeners are tempted to fall into the mesmerising depths of stories told with sound and lyric:

Els Vandeweyer, a Berlin based Vibraphonist will open the night with yet another attempt of arguing, playing, fighting and harmonising with her instrument. Each of her sessions is a fascinating, entertaining and invigorating take on improvisation.

The Norwegian duo Naaljos Ljom conspire both against traditional folk and modern minimalist electronic music, using them equally to produce patient yet wild compositions that sound like hardly anything before.

Extra Life is a four piece band from New York centered around composer Charlie Looker. Their complex but still very accessible compositions tell many stories of characters in fight with their psychological demons, stories of profane and human desire and despair. Their lyrics and vocals entwine themselves with beautifully intense melodies between folk, metal and pop.
